We were delighted to have been awarded a Howard League Community Award, under the category of Restorative Approaches.

The award was presented by the fabulous Prue Leith, at the Policing the Community Conference, held in London on November 12th 2019.  As part of Safe in Tees Valley, we feel so privileged to have achieved this award, in recognition of the integrated, partnership approach adopted in the promotion and delivery of restorative practice across Cleveland.

It was our absolute pleasure to receive a Certificate of Excellence at the NEPACS Ruth Cranfield Good Practice Awards, as a partner of the Cleveland Divert Programme, ledby Durham Tees Valley Community Rehabilitation Company.

Consideration of Restorative Justice is integrated within the Divert adult deferred prosecution scheme, which aims to keep low-level, first-time offenders out of the criminal justice system by supporting them and offering them the chance to tackle the key reasons behind their offending behaviour. As part of the awards, held on September 18th2019, the Programme’s practice in rehabilitating vulnerable females was recognised by NEPACS, demonstrating the strength of partnership working between Divert and Restorative Cleveland, and the positive outcomes achieved in enabling individual, offender rehabilitation.
